Should I give my sick 1-month-old puppy vitamin C for recovery?

The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The vitamin injection is unlikely to be the cause of this though it is not possible to know without knowing the kind of vitamin he received. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Koko evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. It is not recommended to give vitamins and supplements to a puppy. Lilo should only be getting a puppy formulated dog food, which will provide her with all the supplements and vitamins she needs to grow properly. Vitamin C in excess is toxic to pets, especially cats. Plus Vitamin C won't cure her upper respiratory infection. It is indicated for people to help boost their immune system, but not so much in pets. She needs antibiotics to help her best. I'm surprised that Moxxi ate a Vitamin C tablet because they are usually very bitter. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin, so we don't need to worry about toxicity, but high levels of Vitamin C can irritate the stomach and cause diarrhea. I would be worried that Moxxi may develop some stomach upset from that level of Vitamin C. It would be worthwhile to contact your veterinarian if she starts vomiting or develops diarrhea. Dogs do not need to be supplemented with vitamin c syrup unless for a specific medical reason. Too much can cause diarrhea, kidney stones, and liver and kidney failure. I would not give it to your dog unless prescribed by your vet.
