How to stop my 8-week-old puppy from whining and crying at night?

At this age, if Mila wakes you up by whining in the middle of the night, I would take her outside for a potty break - she's too young to be expected to "hold it" successfully all night. Once she potties, bring her back inside and calmly put her back to bed. If needed, you can give her something like a Kong toy stuffed with peanut butter to keep her busy and help her settle again. As she gets older, she will eventually stop needing to go out during the night and will begin to sleep all night without waking up - just like a human baby :)

What's more important is what you DON'T do. BellaRose is acting like a typical child who doesn't want to go to bed. Once you are sure that all of her needs for the night have been taken care of, put her in there and walk away. Do not scold her for crying, or try to soothe or comfort her. Don't go back to her. And do not let her out of the crate! She is testing you. Ignore the crying completely. Once she realizes that her behavior is not having the desired effect, she will stop. If Sadie is urinating each time she goes outside overnight and urinating more frequently during the day this could be a sign of a urinary tract infection, which is not uncommon in a young female puppy. I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian who would likely check a urine sample for signs of infection. She may have also learned that if she whines to go out you'll wake up and she'll get a little play time so once you rule out a medical problem you may want to work on letting her cry for a bit in her crate before letting her out.

It could be that bella has realized if she barks she gets attention from you all. She is barking to get taken outside or even just attention through the night. I would recommend trying to crate train her. This will allow her an area that is safe and only hers. The crate can be a really positive place . You can start off by putting her in it for short intervals and rewarding her going in and coming out. it is important to make the crate a happy place. You could also try just moving her to another room so she is not sleeping with you all.

Congratulations on your new puppy. This is all very normal behavior and is generally short-lived. For now, make sure to take the puppy outside anytime she cries or wakes up in the middle of the night. This will generally decrease as she gets older. Give her vigorous play sessions right before bed as this will help her to be more tired. You can play some classical music and give her a teddy bear to snuggle with in her bed. Thank you for your question. If you go to Aki every time she whines, she will continue to whine. If Aki stops whining for 15 minutes, just let her be. Once she figures out that you are not going to come, she will eventually stop and learn that bedtime is bedtime, and the whining will stop. Don't reward her behavior with attention.
