Why does my Shih Tzu have brown scabs, bumps, and pus on her skin?

The bumps are most likely due to a bacterial skin infection based on your description. These infections usually happen due to some irritation or excessive moisture on the skin. It's best to have a veterinarian look at this, so they can determine what treatment is necessary and possibly find the inciting cause. You can help the infection right now by giving her a bath with medicated shampoo (you can find this at the pet store). Gently massage the shampoo into the skin for 15 minutes and rinse well after bathing. The bath can be repeated every day until the infection starts to clear, then can be reduced to once a week. I would recommend having Tallulah examined by a vet. The wounds in the picture look like they may be infected. Her skin disease could be caused by a deep bacterial or fungal infection, autoimmune disease, allergies, parasites, etc. The vet may need to treat the infection first to be able to determine what is the cause at a later vet appointment.

This can be caused by a localized skin infection, an infestation with mites or fleas, or even an allergic reaction.
