Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 9 years and 8 months old

Hello, I have a 10year old German shepherd. He is facing problem while walking upstairs and his back legs kind of twist sometimes. I have given him calcium supplements and pet joint tablets. He is still taking pet joint tablet once in a day but it doesn't seem to work. What can I do to help him?

The main two conditions that will cause this is arthritis or a degeneration of the nerves. Your best option is to have Bruno examined by the veterinarian. He may need an x-ray to look at the bones. Here are some helpful links about both conditions:

Once your vet knows the cause, discuss what treatment options are available. I hope this helps.
