What bones are safe for my 2-month-old puppy to chew?

It's ok to do, but monitor closely to make sure he plays with it appropriately and doesn't eat it. It should be large enough that he's chewing on a rounded edge rather than a flat surface (which can break this teeth).

I personally never recommend giving dogs bones. They too often break teeth, and can and do lead to obstructions in the GI tract. Now there are rubber bones that Stormy can chew on, and you can give her one designed specifically for puppies. They are a bit softer and will help her when she starts teething in a couple of months. The Kong brand has a great range of puppy rubber bones, and I would get her one of those from a pet store. Just make sure to watch her when she chews on it to make sure she doesn't bite off and swallow any parts. Best of luck!

I don't think is a problem. If it is more of a toy than a treat and is meant to last for a long time, by all means, give it to the puppy. If it is more of a treat, just be careful not to feed too many and upset the nutritional balance of his primary diet.

I never recommend antlers because they do break teeth, and rawhides pose a chocking and intestinal blockage risk. Bully sticks are fine as long as you watch your dog when he eats it, and the Nylabone Petsafe Wood Chew is fine too. I hope this helps!

Hello. There are many, many puppy teething toys, from Kong toys to Nylabones for puppies. Stay away from real, solid bones & any kind of rawhide , pigs ear, pizzle stiks, etc. Whatever your purchase ( & Petco usually has a pretty good supply ), make sure that it is large enough that none of the puppies can swallow it whole, & replace anything that begins to fray, develop sharp edges, or the puppies seem to be getting close to chewing off a piece. One of my colleagues said after removing an entire chew toy from a 6 month old lab, " all chew toys should be bigger than a puppies head!" I myself, am not a fan. I do see these often cause teeth to break in dogs/puppies. I would advise not to give this to your pet. It is better to get easily digestible dog dental chews (once he is a bit bigger >10 months old) or you can get kong toys that are a bit safer for him to chew on. I wouldn't use a raw hide for him to chew on. I personally dislike them because of the big risk of choking and obstruction. There are toys you can get from the pet store that you can freeze and then give to him to chew on. The cold would be very soothing to his gums. Until you can get to the pet store, soak a wash cloth in water and put it in the freezer to freeze. You can give that to him to chew on, but monitor him the entire time to make sure he doesn't rip or swallow any piece of the wash cloth. I hope this helps!
