Does Revolution flea treatment cause hemorrhagic cancer in my dog?

Do not think the revolution is involved. It is more likely to be related to an hyperacute accident, possibly an underlying cardiovascular disease (thromboembolism for example) possibly related to the kidney failure.

You are very welcome! For most pets, Revolution is fine for heartworm prevention unless your area is experiencing very high levels of heartworm exposure or immunity to the product. Call your veterinarian and ask if there is a specific reason that he/she recommends an additional heartworm prevention. It’s always best to gather all the information! Hello. Revolution has been one of the safest flea & heartworm preventative you can buy, & about the only thing you can purchase for tiny babies. If the tremors were very brief & Bear continues to act well, I would not be concerned. It is difficult to say if the Revolution actually caused any tremors, but if he is acting well, there should be no need to worry further. I’m so sorry for the loss of your cat. Revolution is extremely safe and is well tolerated in cats; there is no reason to suspect Revolution as the cause of death. My sincere condolences to you on your loss. ❤️

Revolution is safe for collie breeds however it only covers heart worm and flea prevention. Bravecto is an oral flea/tick prevention that can be given every 12 weeks for flea/tick prevention. It has been proven in studies to be safe in dogs with the mdr1 gene mutation and is usually given along with a monthly heartworm preventative such as Interceptor. You can discuss with your veterinarian possibly preventing vaccine reactions (vomiting, diarrhea, facial swelling, hives) by pre-treating with Benadryl. Good luck!

Heartworm prevention is indeed needed in all stages and I would highly recommend heartworm prevention which is included in the revolution. However, it is important to make sure that Maggie does not have heartworms before you start it so I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for a heartworm test first if she was not on heartworm prevention previously.
