Can I get all my new rescue dog's expiring vaccines done at once?

Congratulations on adding Chiku to your family! Most dogs should receive two rounds of vaccines 3 weeks apart. Rabies should be given once a year (though in some areas it can be given every 3 years). You need to speak with a local veterinarian and ask about vaccine protocols since they are most familiar with disease prevalence in your area. I hope this helps.

I would not rely upon this person having given the vaccines properly nor that the feed store kept the so-called cooling chain, ie that the vaccine did not get warm somewhere along the way and became useless. I suggest you start from the beginning. Take your dog to your vet for a basic exam to make sure she is healthy, and have her vaccinated as per recommendation of your vet. Also discuss having her spayed if you do not want to breed her.

If he is due the rabies shot regardless of other vaccination history you could go ahead and get it. You can ask the vet to leave some space on he vaccine card before recording the rabies so they can add the previous vaccines when the history arrives.

That partially depends on the state laws and where you live. Generally most vets will give the vaccine if the expiration date is within 6 weeks. If live in a state that allows 3 year rabies vaccines and you pet has already had one and is due for another 3 year vaccine, the vet may give that 6 months before the actual due date if it is more convenient for the owner. You are correct, the first rabies vaccine is only good for one year. After that, depending on where you live, the next rabies vaccine could be good for three years. Some cities/states still require the rabies vaccine to be given every year though so you need to check what the law is in your area. Your vet will know. All, that being said, with her rabies vaccine being overdue - you need to update it as soon as possible and it may only be marked good for one year because you are overdue. No - it will not hurt her and I would definitely recommend getting her vaccinated! There are many dogs in shelters who get their vaccines as adults. Some core vaccines like the DAP combo might require a booster while others like rabies don’t.
