What is this yellow, pimple-like bump on my 2-month-old puppy's leg?

The area in the picture looks like an area of what I would call excoriation or skin irritation usually seen when a dog scratches an area extensively due to itching. The yellowish area can be a pimple or what we call a pustule (a pimple containing pus). Pimples and pustules are usually raised lesions, extending up from the skin. It's a little difficult making out much detail in the picture. Sometimes damaged areas of skin turn yellowish like that and are usually flat in appearance, not raised up like a pimple/pustule. Hi there and thank you for posting this question. Pimple type growths can be a sign of a skin infection, mites, or even a tick bite reaction. If there is just one area and it improves daily then it is unlikely to be problematic. However, if you are feeling multiple areas, if you see fleas or ticks, or if it is not resolving then I would become more concerned. There is a common condition called puppy pyoderma that appear like pimples in between the back legs and on the abdomen. It tends to go away on its own but it is important to keep an eye on it. As long as it is not worsening, I would wait and simply show your veterinarian in when you are next in for vaccines.

It looks like a pimple, a minor skin infection. You can use a Benzoyl peroxide topical cream or an antiseptic cream in order to help it resolve quicker, but otherwise it should resolve itself without treatment.

It is difficult to say for sure with just a picture but it looks like a pustule. This is common in puppies and is called puppy pyoderma. It will usually heal on its in it occasionally they will get more of them and will need oral antibiotics. Watch it closely and make sure it isn't getting bigger and make sure more aren't coming up. Also make sure she is eating, drinking and playing normally.

This could be an mildly infected gland, a cyst or even a benign skin tumor like an adenoma. You could monitor it for any change in size, color, or any discharge or pain. If it has any of those changes Rose needs to get checked out by her veterinarian. I would not apply any ointment to it at this time.

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to see that Khloe is having a problem. It looks like it's a pus filled pimple which is called a pustule. It is a localized bacterial infection (staph infection) which is not contagious to other pets or people. You can warm compress the area 2-3 times per day to get it to rupture and then hopefully it will heal up. If this problem persists, spreads, worsens or becomes itchy, I would advise letting your vet take a look to make sure that is what I'm suspecting. Otherwise, if this resolves and clears up, you have no worries. This lesion should dry up and may become a circular spot with a ring of dried skin around it. That is the typical progression of a pustule. Good luck with Khloe and I hope this resolves without incident.
