My new puppy is frail, whines, shakes. Is he anxious or depressed?

That is a very severe case, and very unusual for a puppy that age. I would highly recommend first taking Wilby to your vet to make sure he doesn't have an underlying illness or condition that could be causing this behavior. The next step would be to talk to a veterinary behaviorist in your area that can work with you to overcome this extreme fear with a combination of positive behavioral training and medication as needed. Bubba is likely experiencing stress from the change in homes. This should decrease as he acclimates. Provide a warm, quiet area for him inside. Make sure he has easy access to food and water. Give him some space and some time to "settle in". You can use a pheromone product such as the DAP diffuser or Adaptil collar to decrease any anxiety. Have him examined by your veterinarian within 72 hours of arriving home to ensure good health or to treat any pre existing conditions.

These signs can definitely be due to nerves or the anxiety of being in a new place. It is hard for puppies to be separated from their littermates or mothers, go in a car they've never been in, and be surrounded by people they've never met. He likely won't take very long to adjust- young puppies tend to feel like part of the family very quickly - it sounds like he is playing already! He should get an appetite and start eating a puppy diet well. There should be a recommended feeding amount on the side of the puppy food bag. His stools should start to firm up - if they remain soft or become liquidy, he may have gastrointestinal parasites/worms that need to be treated - even if wherever you got him from treated him already. It sounds like Sweetie May have some anxiety- not surprising considering she just got brought into a whole new world where everything is different. Be patient with her. Using treats is a great way to decrease anxiety. Sitting next to her kennel and talking to her gently and giving her tiny treats for 10 minutes at a time will go a long way. When she seems comfortable with that, pull her onto your lap and do the same thing again. Best of luck to you and Sweetie.

It is possible she may have a urinary tract issue with frequent urinating, a simple test by your own vet can help check this. Reduced appetite may be due to this, but many pups which are weaned early lack the skills and confidence to eat when not directly supervised. Dislike of being left alone is also very common and can lead to separation anxiety issues if not approached sensitively but consistently by providing comforting toys and treats and slowly increasing the times she is left to build confidence and independence

This could just be related to his significant anxiety, or it could be early signs of illness, especially parvo virus if he hasn’t been fully vaccinated. You can try offering a bland diet of chicken breast and cooked white rice to encourage him to eat (you can add a little extra broth for hydration). But if he isn’t doing better tomorrow, he needs to see a vet to determine if there is a medical cause for the change.
