My puppy eats grass, vomits, and has diarrhea. Is it food or vaccine?

There could be many things that are causing this in Loki. Less likely a foreign body especially since he bounces back right after vomiting. It can be viral related or just a gastrointestinal upset. We always are concerned about Parvo in an unvaccinated puppy since he is only 9 weeks but this is less likely if he is energetic and has no diarrhea. He can always have intestinal parasites especially in a young puppy. I would recommend a stool check, deworming, a bland diet and an antacid as long as everything else is ok. It could be either - some dogs with gastrointestinal disease will eat grass and the occasional vomiting could be a sign of nausea. It’s also possible that this is simply a preference that Otis has. I would recommend having him examined by a vet to make sure there is no concern for a gastrointestinal problem. They might recommend checking blood work as well.

Poor Puchku sounds pretty sick at the moment! I'm not sure if he is vaccinated or not, but if he isn't, he could be suffering form parvo. He could also have a severe GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or could have pancreatitis. I would have him seen by a vet for these symptoms. The can eat grass because their stomach hurts or vomit from eating grass just because they like grass. This can be an allergy since she is itching also or they may be unrelated. i would have vet check her since she is vomiting and limit the grass she eats. You can try plan chicken and rice as this is bland to make sure she digest it well.

If a dog is going to suffer a vaccine reaction, it typically occurs the same day as the vaccination. So this is likely unrelated. He may be experiencing GI upset secondary to all the new treats. I would stop those for now. Being so young and small, he should see his veterinarian if symptoms persist. In the meantime, encourage him to eat and drink small amounts. Hopefully, it is just dietary indiscretion but I am always concerned for intestinal obstruction in young dogs with projectile vomiting. If the vomiting continues follow up with your veterinarian to discuss abdominal x-rays.

Hello, this could be due to a number of issues, including her known heartworm disease if she is symptomatic and it's making her feel unwell. A few common reasons for a young otherwise healthy dog to have a waxing and waning appetite with no other symptoms would be a low grade chronic pancreatitis, mild IBD (inflammatory bowel disease), or a food sensitivity. If you haven't done a complete bloodwork panel with your vet, I suggest starting there. Your vet can discuss a feeding trial with prescription food - I would recommend trying an easily digestible food that's easy on the stomach such as I/D or EN (there are lots of acceptable brands of prescription food, these are just a few common ones), and if that doesn't help then do a trial of a limited ingredient or hydrolyzed diet for food sensitivity.
