My puppy had a vaccine lapse. How many 6-in-1 shots are left?

Hi there. Unfortunately the vaccine label picture is very blurry and difficult to see. However, the typical 5 in 1 / DHPP vaccine is the vaccine for canine distemper , hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus. As best as I can tell she had the appropriate vaccine at 8 weeks of age and should have it again now at 12 weeks. It is also recommended to booster again at 16 weeks. Good luck with your pup! Depending on his age and vaccination history, he made need to restart the 5in1 series again and have 2 doses 3-4 weeks apart. The best thing would be to have a vet examine him and evaluate his vaccine history and determine which vaccines he needs and when.

If Bolt had his first vaccination over 4 weeks ago, you will need to re-start his vaccination program. So, the first vaccination typically contains 3-5 diseases (parvovirosis, distemper, infectious hepatitis and canine influenza and leptospirosis). The same vaccine is repeated 2-4 weeks later. After that, booster is given once a year. Finally, rabies is vaccinated depending on the current legal requirements.

He can get his rabies and restart his distemper combo series. He'll likely get 2 of them 3 weeks apart. Once he finishes those vaccines he'll be protected for the next year. Congratulations on adding Coco to your family! Coco's basic vaccines will be distemper/parvo, rabies and bordetella. Depending on where you live Leptospirosis and Lyme vaccines may also be indicated. Coco will need 3-4 rounds of vaccines depending on her age when the series is started. The series will end when Coco is 16-18 weeks of age. Until she goes through the whole series, she will not be protected so get the series started. Please post again if you have any further questions!

Bailey is adorable! Thanks for including a picture. Puppies require a series of DHPP vaccinations, but that series does not need to be repeated. In general, we booster DHPP 1 year after the puppy series ends (so that would be now since it ended on 6/7/17), then DHPP is generally boostered every 3 years. Rabies vaccination is again boostered 1 year after it is given the first time, then every 3 years after that (depending your local regulations).
