Why is my high-energy puppy suddenly tired after a fish stick treat?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 10 days old | 32 lbs

I have a husky lab mix puppy. She's 19 weeks tomorrow. Normally high energy. Today took her for a walk. Whined and made it two blocks. Now she's been sleeping all day. I got her a fish stick pet store as a treat. Not sure if it's that

First of all, Bella is adorable! I'm sorry to hear that she hasn't been feeling like herself today. It is possible that the fish stick treat may have caused a bit of gastrointestinal upset that could be causing this lethargy, or she may have a virus or other medical condition. If she is still eating and drinking normally without any vomiting or diarrhea, you can continue to monitor her today to see if she perks up tomorrow. However, if she refuses to eat or drink, or begins to develop signs of vomiting or diarrhea, it would be best to take her to the vet for further evaluation and treatment. In the meantime, be sure to take the fish stick treat away in case this is part of the problem. I hope that she's feeling better soon!

There is likely not enough chocolate in the cookies to cause chocolate toxicity (also since she is a large dog). However, even if it was too much chocolate, it is already past the point of being able to decontaminate her (remove the toxins). I suspect she isn't felling well because of stomach upset (diarrhea) from eating the cookies. I would recommend feeding her a bland diet for 2-3 days (boiled chicken and boiled rice) then transition her back to her normal diet. If that doesn't help, I would recommend taking her to a vet to make sure there is nothing else going on. Good luck and kisses to Bella!

Why is my 8-week-old Shih Tzu puppy suddenly lethargic but seems fine?

It's good that Bella isn't having diarrhea, and a light yellow color is the normal color of urine. It could be that she simply isn't feeling well today, or she could have played a lot yesterday and is very tired at the moment. I would monitor her for now. and make sure she is still eating, drinking, and going potty normally. Should she still be lethargic after 48 hours, then I would take her into the vet.

My puppy ate sticks, won't eat, lethargic. Should I see a vet?

Her stomach may be upset because of eating the sticks, because of the diet change, a combination of both, there's no way to tell just from her symptoms. It may be that there is a piece of the stick still inside causing an obstruction or pain. I recommend getting her in to see your vet for an exam, possibly x-rays, right away if she starts vomiting again, develops diarrhea, continues to refuse food, and/or continues to be lethargic. If there is an obstruction or perforation somewhere in her GI tract, getting her sooner ir better than later, as this condition could require surgery.

I'm very sorry Sadie isn't feeling well! I can understand they you might be worried, but it is a good sign that she is eating every meal and drinking water. Lethargy is a very general sign of illness, and it can be caused by many different things such as systemic illness, infection, injury, or inflammation. I would monitor her for now, and if she is still lethargic in 24-48 hours, I would take her into the vet for a health check.
