My puppy snorts and snores when tired. Should I call the vet now?

Harsh respiratory sounds are typically caused by some type of airway inflammation. Some underlying illness may be causing her to have a sore throat/nose. It is best to have her assessed by a veterinarian to make sure there are no signs of infection. If she is having difficulty breathing, I'd recommend having her assessed as soon as possible.

Molly is such a cutie! It could be that she picked up a respiratory infection or kennel cough when she was boarded. I would have her seen by a vet for this, but there's no need to rush her into a vet asap as long as she is eating and drinking normally, isn't extremely lethargic, and isn't having difficulty breathing. I can give you something to try at home to see if that helps with her breathing, but have her seen by a vet in the morning. You can try using a humidifier or bringing her into the bathroom with the door closed while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity help to break up congestion and temporarily relieve symptoms associated with respiratory infections.

If Milly has any other signs such as nasal discharge or just generally not feeling well, it may be best to have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and possible treatment. I would get her in to see your vet. Since the snoring and breathing noise is a recent development, it could mean she has a tumor or polyp somewhere in her upper respiratory tract that is causing the problem. Catching it early is the best for a good outcome.

I wouldn't be super concerned about it if it is only when she is sniffing the ground, but I would discuss it with Emma's vet the next time she goes in. If you can get a video of what is going on, that may help the vet see what you are seeing. I couldn't guess what could cause it right now, though!
