My outdoor puppy is skinny, won't eat/drink, threw up. What's wrong?

My puppy is an outside dog and I went to play with him and he wasn't doing well and is skinny. Also he want drink or eat. I gave him some water ,around 35ml, and he drank it from the syringe. We brought him in and he threw up. He had his second round of shot on Wednesday so he shounld not have parvovirus. His brother who was outside with him is completely fine. What could be wrong? It is hot outside could that cause him not to eat or drink? What can I do for him?

Puppies are notorious chewers and can swolow all kind of things. Your puppy may have a foreign body in the stomach or eaten something outside that does not agree with his stomach. Additionally, vaccines are not perfect and I would not rule a viral infection. Heat stoke should not be ruled out and nor should intestinal parasites.I would advise that Ace be examined by a veterinarian shortly. Puppies can get dehydrated easily. I would recommend taking ace to the veterinarian ASAP. Parvovirus is still very much a possibility, two vaccinations are not protective against parvo. Other possibilities include intestinal parasites or an intestinal blockage that can cause vomiting and dehydration. Any of the above can potential he be fatal and the young puppy and require immediate treatment. PleSr take Ace to the vet asap and keep an eye on his brother for signs of illness. Poor ace. He obviously has an upset tummy. This could be due to worms, eating something he shouldn't, or even a viral infection. If he didn't have all his shots then I would be worried about the viral infection. He is likely yelping because he is hurting or he may have something stuck. With him being young, I worry about dehydration. I would have your vet do an exam and make sure he isn't getting dehydrated. He may need a dewormer or some antibiotics. I hope this helps.

My 11-week puppy isn't eating, is skinny, and threw up yellow foam.

Poor Oso. Unfortunately there are a lot of different reasons that could be causing him to act like this like parasites (worms), giardia, a bacterial infection, a foreign body, an intestinal obstruction and much more. I would have your vet take a look at him since he is so small. They will likely do a fecal to look for worm eggs - you usually will not be able to see the actual worms in their poop. They may also recommend blood work or x-rays if needed. They will be able to get him on the proper meds to help him feel better. Also, I would try not to get into the habit of hand feeding him as he may get use to this and require it as he gets older for attention. I hope this helps!

Why is my puppy lethargic, not eating, dry heaving, and throwing up?

The most likely diagnosis for a puppy with Jack Jack's symptoms is parvo virus. I suggest you get him to a vet as soon as possible for an exam and parvo test. This is serious and life-threatening. Do not try to continue to treat him at home. He may not have parvo as there are other things that can, of course, cause his symptoms but regardless of what is ailing him he is very sick and needs veterinary intervention.

Why is my puppy throwing up, has diarrhea, and won't eat?

This could be from parvovirus or intestinal parasites. Since he’s so small and young I recommend a veterinary exam and treatment. He could get dehydrated quickly and that can become life threatening. They will test him for parvovirus and check for intestinal parasite. They will probably give him fluids to prevent dehydration and medication to control the diarrhea. Why is my unvaccinated puppy vomiting and skinny after deworming?

I would be worried about parvo with those symptoms or a bacterial infection. If it is parvo, he was exposed and incubating the virus before the vaccine so it was not protective. The best thing to do is feed boiled chicken and rice and try to keep him hydrated with pedialyte or Gatorade. I would try to find an ER clinic or a vet that takes after hours calls to get him seen today for a test and further treatment

My first puppy won't eat, drink, or move. Why is he so skinny?

Poor pup! It definitely sounds like something is wrong. There are many things that can cause dogs to lose weight, not eat or drink, and not want to move, so it's hard to say what might be wrong without being able to examine him and run some tests. He may have an infectious disease such as parvo, a systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, or may have ingested something toxic. This does sound quite serious, so I would recommend taking Boy to the vet for an exam as soon as possible. He/she can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get him started on appropriate treatment.

I urge caution when pouring water down dogs mouths as they can aspirate. I would also check his temperature to make sure he isn't too hot especially with the recent heat.
