My puppy has parvo. Are these signs he's getting better from parvo?

These are very positive signs! When a dog survives the first four days of parvo, they have a very good chance of recovery. It may be a few weeks before Sammy is back to himself, but I think based on what you are telling us, those are good signs.

If she's stopped having diarrhea, this is a good sign. I hope that she has some medication on board for nausea and vomiting - if not, your vet should be able to prescribe some for you to give at home. Normally, with parvo, the best sign of recovery is when they have gone 24 hours without any vomiting and are eating on their own - until then, you need to continue treatment with fluids and other supportive care.

I'm sorry Gizmo has parvo! It is a good sign that he's eating, and hopefully he can start on puppy food again soon. Without seeing him in person, I can't say what his chances of survival are, but I can say things are looking good if he's eating and keeping it down. If your puppy has parvo, it is best to work with your treating veterinarian for care and help. Parvo is a very serious illness that can be potentially fatal and usually requires hospitalization or intensive care for treatment. Diarrhea in parvo can usually be blood-tinged indicating irritation of the digestive tract, or may be greenish in color indicating an increase in mucous in the stool (also a sign of irritation as well as shedding of material in the digestive tract). If your puppy's stool is changing color, it may be in response to the change in his illness or just a sign that his digestive system is still very irritated. It is best to speak with your veterinarian that has seen and is treating him for any further care instructions related to his illness.

It's good that Chloe is drinking water, but it's not an improvement if she can't keep it down and vomits it up. Dehydration is the number one cause of death in these pets. You may need to take her back into a vet for IV fluids. I certainly hope she recovers!

That good to hear she is swallowing, but if she really is unresponsive (meaning you cannot get her attention and she will not move from her position), then that is very concerning and she will need to see an emergency veterinarian right away. It takes about a week or so for the infection to run its course. Ace may shed virus for weeks afterwards. A good percentage of puppies that survive the first 3 or 4 days of infection usually recover. Without a physical exam, we cannot say if he is recovering or not. Continue to medicate him as directed by your veterinarian. Make sure Ace is eating and drinking. You can offer unflavored PediaLyte or your vet can show you how to administer subcutaneous fluids. Be sure to sanitize or discard bedding, toys, bowls, etc. Keep him isolated from other unvaccinated puppies.
