My new 5-month-old lab mix puppy has a painful lump. What is it?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 5 months and 14 days old | 30 lbs

5 month old lab mix. We just adopted a week ago and has some kind of growth on him. Doesnt seem to bug him until we touch it.

Poor Kylo! This could be a bad local infection, ringworm, or even mange. Since it is so large and painful when you touch it, I would definitely have a vet look at it. Your vet will be able to determine the cause and get him started on the proper meds to help it heal. Also, you can put a cone collar on him if he is pawing at it or trying to rub it on the ground. You can also give him Benadryl twice a day if it seems itchy. This won’t heal it but it may make him more comfortable. See link below. I hope this helps.
