Puppy not peeing or pooping, but seems okay. When to call vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 23 days old | 15 lbs

My puppy (12wks) hasn't peed or pooped today. He usually pees every time we let him outside. He ate his breakfast and kept it down so I don't believe its a blockage. Also, late last night (long after dinner) and early this morning (before eating) he heaved but did not throw up. He acted perfectly fine after, even ran around and continued usual puppy activity. His stomach is not distended and he does not seem to feel discomfort when I push on it. His gums don't seem to be flushed

I wouldn't be too worried just yet. This can happen with puppies and doesn't necessarily mean anything at this point in time. Keep an eye on him today and tonight and if he hasn't pooped or peed by tomorrow morning, then I would be worried. At that point, I would take him into the vet. Make sure he keeps eating and drinking. If he becomes very lethargic, starts vomiting, or stops eating or drinking before tomorrow morning, then I would rush him into a vet immediately. Congratulations on your new puppy! If Bella is acting completely normal otherwise and defecated a large amount yesterday, I wouldn't be too concerned. It is common for puppies to take some time to regulate their bathroom habits after changing homes and/or changing foods. If you do notice signs of illness (vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, poor appetite), then I would recommend taking her to the vet for an exam.

He is so young that you do not want to wait long if he is ill. It is very easy for him to become dehydrated. Why hasn't my new 4-week-old puppy pooped since coming home?

As long as she is eating, playful and not straining give her more time. If she can urinate in her own she can poop on her own. You can also call the person you got her from to double check what she did with them. Since you are seeing your vet tomorrow she should be fine. Have a good day!

My 2-month puppy isn't eating or pooping. Should I vaccinate him now?

I would be very concerned that Chloe hasn't gone potty for two days and isn't eating, and I would have him seen by a vet for it right away. It could be he has something more seriously wrong with him than food poisoning, such as a foreign body, causing his symptoms. I would not vaccinate him now either. He should only be vaccinated when he's healthy, which includes eating and going to the bathroom normally.

My dog is vomiting, not eating, and hasn't pooped. Is he sick?

I am very concerned about Pilly, it sounds like he has a very upset stomach! My top concern would be a blockage in his intestines caused by something that he ate, like a toy, bone, sock, trash, etc. This would also prevent food from moving through his system and turning into feces. Other possibilities include bacterial or viral infection, intestinal parasites, or other internal issue. I recommend that Pilly see a vet as soon as possible. Your vet will probably recommend x-rays and maybe even blood work depending on what they discover during the physical exam.

Puppies tend to play hard and sleep hard. He maybe be exhausted from being up all night. If he is not eating well you can always give him a little karo syrup as small dogs can get lie blood sugar. Since he is only 5 lbs his stomach is smaller than a tennis ball so it won't take much to fill him up. as long as he is eating and drinking, you can give him time to adjust to your new routine and schedule. If he stops eating or you notice vomiting to diarrhea then he needs to be checked.
