My 8-week-old puppy's nose is deformed on one side. Is it serious?

Unfortunately that is a birth deformity and there may not be much you can do without surgery. She may also have a cleft palpate which can be very serious and lead to aspiration. I recommend to have Lalasa examined by the veterinarian to figure out to what extend she may be abnormal. She likely cannot nurse well because it sounds like she can’t breath out of her nose. Some of the puppies can be tub fed but the veterinarian will need to show you how and if that will work. Best of luck and I hope this is helpful. Please feel free to post any additional questions.

Hi and thanks for posting! The area around his nose does look a little red and swollen. Although perhaps not an emergency, I would try and get Prompto in to see his veterinarian as soon as possible. As long as this area is not painful and is not bothering your dog, you can monitor her at home for the weekend. However, if the area is sore or is bothering your dog, you should take her to your local vets tomorrow.

Hello, Lioh's may be undergoing de-pigmentation changes in his nose either due to sun allergy if he is outdoors a lot or a form of vitiligo. If sun allergy, this can be very itchy and may spread to other parts of the body. Vitiligo is mainly a cosmetic change that doesn't require medical management. You may monitor for sneezing, bleeding, or rubbing at his nose and consider taking him to your veterinarian if he is showing any of these. Otherwise, he looks like a very cute guy. Hope this helps

I do not really appreciate any problems with the eyes in these photos. His right eye may have more of the sclera (white of the eye) showing at the middle corner area but I would not consider it abnormal. If you are worried I suggest you have him to a local vet for an exam. That way they can use the eye scope (ophthalmoscope) to check the eyes. Eye problems are best diagnosed in person.

Dogs can develop bumps on their nose from injury, trauma, bacterial & fungal infections, often from their habit of rooting in dirt, under leaves, bushes, etc. Gauge may need medication to help this heal, especially if it seems to be getting bigger. I recommend having your veterinarian take a look so that the proper diagnosis is made & the correct treatment/medication is prescribed.
