My puppy feels hot. Is a 102.3 temperature normal for a puppy?

Is he normal otherwise? Does he seem lethargic/low energy? Good appetite? Normal stools? Buy a digital thermometer and take your puppy's temperature rectally. It's not hard, although puppies can be squirmy, so you may need some help holding him. Use a little something like baby oil to lubricate the end, and just stick the tip in his anus. Normal temperature for a puppy is no more than 102.2 Fahrenheit. (Also, if you're getting a reading of less than 99 Fahrenheit, that's not accurate). If your puppy's temp is higher than this, or if he's not acting perfectly normally, please take him in for a vet visit.

A fever is possible. You can take a rectal temperature. He may a fever if it is over 102. If he has a fever, it should be checked out by a vet. There are no recommend at home treatments for fever in dogs that are safe. Do not attempt to cool him since you can easily make puppies hypothermic. Either way, I would recommend that he get checked out by a vet to see if there is a possible reaction to his current ringworm treatment.

Normal dog temperature is 100-102.5. If he has a fever, I would take him to a vet to determine why. If he doesn’t, you can offer him ice cubes or soft rubber toys for the teething. Hi there. Normal temperature in dogs ranges from 100.5 - 102.5. So 102.9 is just barely above normal, and not at all surprising if you've just been on a walk. This shouldn't be any cause for concern at all, as long as Bruno is acting normal :)

You cannot really assess a dog's temperature accurately unless you take the temperature rectally. Hiccups in puppies can be normal. I would not be overly worried about it unless he is vomiting, not wanting to eat or showing other signs of illness.
