My young puppy has a neck knot. What can I do at home?

I am so sorry! If the dog is unconscious there is a good chance there has been fatal injuries and without medical attention nothing can be done. If you cannot take him to a vet, I would just keep him quiet and still. You can try to support him by syringe feeding him food and water to ensure he gets nutrition. Do not give him any human pain meds as most are toxic to dogs. You can ice the area for 10 minutes three times per day for a couple of days then use a warm compress if he is doing better. If there is an open wound you can put Neosporin on it twice a day and try not to let him scratch at it. Just know without medical attention he may pass away on his own if the injuries are severe. Without me seeing it, there isn't much I can advise. There isn't any good home remedies for severe neck or spinal injuries. I am sorry and I hope he starts to feel better!

This type of injury where you have vocalization, limping, and swelling definitely needs to be looked at by your veterinarian. A thorough physical exam of the area and potentially radiographs of the bones are needed here to provide the care that Stormy needs after an injury to this degree. I would highly recommend taking him in to be seen as soon as you can. You are not going to be able to care for an injury like this at home. For tonight, its best to just keep Stormy quiet in an isolated room without any other pets to disturb him and apply a cold compress to the swollen area, if tolerated, for about 3-5 mins. Using a bag of peas will suffice. I do hope that you are able to get Stormy some medical attention soon. Best of luck and take care.

Since she is eating and drinking normally, the best thing to do is try to not let her run and jump and play the best your can, you want to let her rest. You can apply a cold compress to the area since it is red and swollen now to help. Your vet can check her and see if need to be lanced and flushed or just antibiotics

This lump in your puppy’s skin is probably nothing to worry about. It could be from an insect bite or sting or may be a reaction to a vaccine he had in that area. Keep an eye on it for now. If it becomes larger, painful, or red, then take him to your vet right away. Or if he starts acting lethargic, vomits/has diarrhea or stops wanting to eat, you should take him to be checked out. BB could have a hematoma or accumulation of blood and fluid secondary to the trauma on his neck. I would be worried that he is painful when standing - while it is possible that this is from bruising and soft tissue trauma a broken bone would be another possibility. I would not recommend anything else specific if you are absolutely unable to see a vet right now - just keep him as quiet/calm as possible and continue to offer food and water. You may need to help him stand up - sometimes slinging a towel underneath to assist might help. I do not recommend any over the counter pain medications in dogs. If he stops eating, is having trouble breathing, seems very weak or lethargic, or is unable to walk I would recommend driving to the nearest veterinarian.

Oh dear, poor Tickles! My first concern in a young puppy with blister-like lesions and a swelling in the neck (which I assume is a lymph node) is puppy strangles. If there is no lymph node enlargement, other issues such as a skin infection, mange or ringworm would be more suspicious. Unfortunately, there isn't anything that you can do at home for any of these conditions aside from assuring that Tickles continues to eat and drink normally. Take him to the vet as soon as you are safely able to do so. I hope that he feels better soon and that you stay safe!

This may be an injury or an infection. Best to have a veterinarian examine your puppy. Bring mama and the whole litter for a wellness exam and in the course of that show your veterinarian the sick puppy.
