My puppy has a moving bump with a hole on her neck. Is it serious?

My puppy has this huge bump on her neck with a hole in it and it seems like there is something moving in it

This is suspicious of a bot infestation. This is a type of fly larva that lives under the skin and is very difficult to remove. You will need a veterinarian to surgically remove it and clean the wound, so I recommend scheduling a vet visit and let them know that you are suspicious of Cuterebra. They may want to schedule you for a drop-off appointment.

It's really difficult to know what this is without seeing it and being able to evaluate it in-person, but I'm suspicious of a bot infestation given your description and your location.

Bots are a type of fly larva that lives under the skin and is very difficult to remove. It's also possible that this lump is due to foreign material trapped under the skin, or an infected cyst/tumor. In each case, a veterinarian will be needed to diagnose it and provide the necessary treatment.

It could be she has the famed cuterebra, also known as a warble. A lot of vets get excited about this because it's really cool to treat, but it's not so cool for the poor dog! They are painful, and it's certainly possibly that your dog has one. The best thing to do is take her into a vet first thing in the morning. This is something that needs to be treated at the clinic, and if she does have a cuterebra, the vet can removed it. I hope this helps!

It will take several days for the bump to go down. If there is no significant decrease in swelling or redness in 3 days he should be seen for oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. The hole is suspicious for the entry point of a wire or grass seed. It could also indicate a small abscess. I recommend to have Finn examined so that the area can be flushed and explored for a grass seed or other foreign object. Also make sure to protect the area from any scratching. My 7-month-old puppy has a neck bump. When should I worry?

In a young dog these are often a little cyst or a mass known as a histiocytoma. These may grow a little bigger, but eventually go away on their own after a couple of months. I think it would fine to just monitor this for now. If grows rapidly, or breaks open, or has any other dramatic changes, then it's best to have your vet examine Capone in order to definitively diagnose the cause of this and provide the necessary treatment. My dog has a soft, white, pea-sized lump on its belly. Is it serious?

This appears to be a possible pustule (infected small pocket underneath the skin). If just one of these is present and it isn't causing any discomfort, then I would suggest monitoring the area to see if it resolves on its own. You can gently clean the area with a mild soap (ie Dove) and warm water and placing a very thin layer of Neosporin to the bump to see if it goes away. However if it starts to spread or does not resolve within a week or two then a vet visit is needed to get Louie on a short course of antibiotics to get this to heal well.
