My puppy has loose stool with red in poop. Is it parvo if he's active?

The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I am afraid that Pixie may have the same disease that your other pup has which could be parvovirus. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Pixie evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. Given that you have had an outbreak of parvo recently, if Kora is now having watery red poop, I would be be afraid she may have parvo as well if she isn't fully vaccinated. Parvo is highly contagious. Unfortunately you did not attach a picture of her poop, so I can't say if the red color of her poo is due to blood or not. I would take her into a vet immediately to have a parvo snap test done. This will diagnose if she does have parvo or not. It could be Pixel just has an upset stomach, or may have eaten something off. Even if you gave him some human food, that could cause it. You can do his deworming. If he's vaccinated for parvo, it won't be parvo. A tumor is also unlikely.

Hello, thank you for your question about Pixel. Generally I puppy with parvovirus will shows some signs of sickness. It is uncommon that they become acutely affected, where they are very playful the day prior and then critically ill on the next day. If your veterinarian practices good hygiene and cleaning practices between appointments this should lower the chance of transmission. Also, it is very helpful that Pixel has already some of his vaccines this should lower the chance of Pixel becoming infected. It could be parvo but it could also be other things. you need to take him urgently to the vet for him to get hospitalized and treated, if it is parvo his chances are not good at his age but if it is something else he could survive if he receives the correct treatment.

Some antibiotics may have this color. Pinkish feces are not normal, but I would recommend to wait and see if the signs are persistent or not. Hello, that sounds more consistent with potential parasites. Parvo may intially cause brown to dark red liquid diarrhea with occasional blood. However, the only true way to know is to test the stool for parvo with a parvo test. In addition to the diarrhea puppies will also have vomiting, lethargy, and decreased appetite. Your puppies are a bit too young to have parvo as they should still have their mothers immunity they received via the colostrum. If your puppies however did not nurse from mom, then they may be at risk for parvo. Hope this helps and best of luck.
