You will also need to stop Snowy from licking or chewing at the area as that will only make the infection worse by introducing more bacteria into the wound. To avoid ingestion of the medicine, try to put only a very thin layer on and then try to distract Bailey with a chew toy for about 10 minutes to avoid her licking the cream off. It is not toxic but not beneficial to the wounds if she licks it right off. It sounds like you need a large e collar since she can still reach all these places. Try to apply the medicine right before you feed her, as this may distract her some. Go to your vet tomorrow or the pet store and get a large e collar so she cannot reach the areas.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Clean the wound now with water and mild soap. Get some saline wound wash (PLAIN SALINE) from a pharmacy and use the wound wash to thoroughly wash the wound twice a day. It would be best to keep momma dog from licking it, and the only way to do that is to place an e-collar (cone) on the momma dog so she can’t reach to lick it. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything you can safely give over the counter for pain. Please do not give aspirin or any other baby formulated pain relievers. This wound is at high risk of getting infected, and at such a young age that could become very serious very quickly. I understand if you need to try to manage the wound at home for financial reasons, but if the skin around the wound is getting increasingly inflamed, or if the puppy isn’t eating or is acting lethargic, you need to try to arrange to get the puppy seen by a veterinarian somehow. Otherwise he could become septic and this could result in death. I'd be concerned in that if Cody ate parts of the tube, it could cause GI obstruction. In addition, the anti-fungal cream could cause some vomiting and diarrhea if there was some left in the tube. I'd monitor him for now, and if you do see any vomiting or diarrhea, withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he continues to have vomiting and diarrhea while withholding food or on the bland diet, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, I would have him seen by a vet. Hopefully though, he didn't eat any of the tube or ingest any remaining cream, and he will be just fine :-)
