Why is my puppy sleepy and not playful after shots and Trifexis?

Poor Ember! Vomiting and lethargy are both common side effects of Trifexis, and do not usually indicate any kind of serious problem. But, you could certainly opt to use a different flea and heartworm medication for her in the future to avoid this issue. For tonight, I would withhold food and leave her alone to rest since she doesn't feel well. If she's still acting noticeably lethargic tomorrow, or if she develops any other symptoms, then I would call your veterinarian or take her in for a check-up to make sure nothing else is wrong.

Reactions to both are possible, but in my experience will happen the same day. If his symptoms recur, I would recommend that he sees his veterinarian, but I am happy that he is feeling better now.

Puppy's getting sleepy after their shots is a normal reaction to vaccinations. They can also have a low grade fever and/or one bout of vomiting/diarrhea normally that are no cause for concern. The concern arises when your pet is severely lethargic, not eating, non-responsive, pale gums, or excessive vomiting/diarrhea. If you notice any of these symptoms then it is best to take puppy to a vet asap for immediate care, because a mores serious vaccine reaction is occurring at that point.

The age and pound limit for puppies is 8 weeks and 5 lbs. It would appear that Luna is within this range. The most common listed side effects for Trifexis include itchiness, anorexia, lethargy, redness and diarrhea. Often drugs may have other side effects that are considered uncommon and/or rare. There is also the possibility of allergic reactions to medications. If Luna appears to be in true distress to you, I would recommend getting her into a vet particularly if these side effects happened immediately after using the drug. Puppies depending on their age can sleep quite a bit and not be very playful if for example less than 2 months of age. If your pup is older and you think may be sick due to other symptoms, it would be best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Otherwise, your pup may be fine. This should subside within 1-2 days. If it does not improve or it worsens, have Willy evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment.
