My puppy has been hacking/coughing with some mucus white foam here and there for the last 8 hours. We took her to the vet and they recommended Sulfacrate. We haven't given it to her yet. Could it be something else?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Eclaire!
It sounds like Eclaire is coughing with a terminal retch. Dogs can cough so hard it stimulates their gag reflex and they can vomit up white foam and sometime even food and bile.
Common causes of coughing in a young dog are: kennel cough, pneumonia, other viral infections.
It is best to have Eclaire seen by a Vet for an exam. The vet will likely prescribe antibiotics and cough suppressants.
I hope this helps and I wish Eclaire a speedy recovery!
