My puppy pees often, small amounts, and squeaks. Could it be a UTI?

She may have a urinary infection or a puppy vaginitis. I recommend having a urinalysis done and an exam to see if there is a medical problem. Puppies do urinate frequently but if this is abnormal for her then please get treatment so it doesn’t worsen. Usually a course of oral antibiotics will be prescribed. Hi, sorry to hear Oly isn't feeling well. There is a chance he can have a urinary tract infection, which will cause a dog to urinate frequently and in small amounts. This can be treated by a vet with antibiotics. I recommend bringing him to see a vet if these symptoms persist. There is no home remedy you can do for this. It is not an emergency unless he is not urinating or seems to be in pain. I suggest taking him to the vet tomorrow and bringing a urine sample if possible, or not allowing him to urinate at least an hour or so before the appointment so they can get a sample. Hi, puppies can get urinary tract infections. I would watch her for urinating more frequently and in small amounts. At 7 months, she should be mostly house trained so this is not likely a behavior issue but it is still possible. I would take her to the vet for an exam if it happens a third time. They can put her on some antibiotics for this and she should be fine. Good luck!

Some puppies are just fascinated by water and drink constantly regardless of thirst. The 25 ounces is about double what Wallace needs per day, dog’s typically drink 1-2 ounces per pound. It can be hard to differentiate puppy behavior from disease without testing the urine. Based on these results, medication can be prescribed if a urinary tract infection is found. Hi there! It sounds like little Woody needs to visit the vet. Frequent urination can indicate a urinary tract infection (UTI). When bacteria develop in the bladder, it inflames the urethra (the tube out which a male dog urinates), and causes a dog to feel like he has to pee all the time. I would be even more suspicious of this if he has little urine coming out when he's trying to urinate. A UTI is probably not an emergency at this point, but it is likely to be very uncomfortable if this is the case. While very unlikely at this age, it is possible for the urethra to swell so much that it blocks the passage of urine, which quickly becomes a life-threatening situation. I strongly suggest bringing Woody to the vet ASAP if the frequent urination continues. In the meantime, make sure he has access to plenty of water to keep the bladder and kidneys flushed out. There isn't much that you can do for him at home safely aside from this. Do be on the lookout for blood in the urine, as this is another indicator of a UTI.
