When can puppies get flea meds, dewormed, and their first shots?

It depends on the medication. Revolution can be given to puppies as young as six weeks of age, Advantage seven weeks of age, and Frontline Plus eight weeks of age. Frontline spray can be used in puppies as young as two days old. I hope this helps!

Nexgard is the only oral flea and tick preventative approved in the US for 6 months or younger. I would continue the Nemex every 2 weeks until they start heartworm prevention. I hope this helps!

Congratulations on your new puppy! Copper looks like such a sweet pup! Unfortunately, puppies should not be taken outside until they are fully vaccinated. Typically puppies require three sets of shots at least 2 weeks apart, starting at 6-9 weeks. Until Copper is vaccinated, he should not go outside or have contact with other dogs to protect him from viral infections such as distemper, parvo, and rabies. You can begin potty training him to use a wee-wee pad before he can go outside. For his flea prevention, you can use a product that is labeled for puppies, and follow the directions on the box regarding the minimum age (most products are labeled for puppies at least 8 or 12 weeks of age). Cocoa is not old enough for her first vaccines until she is at least six weeks of age. She should not be showered until she is at least three months of age unless she is very dirty. You can use Frontline Spray on her for the fleas, it's safe to use on dogs as young as two days of age.

Deworming puppies is recommended with pyrantel at 2, 4 and 6 weeks. This can be purchased at any pet store. Vaccines are started at 6 weeks that incude distemper and parvo. Bordetella is not started to 8 weeks and is optional

This is a great question! Your vet can help you by prescribing flea prevention medication that is suitable for puppies 8 weeks or older. That way you can work on potty training while helping to prevent the risk of parasites. If you choose to purchase over the counter flea medication please make sure you check to see if it is suitable for puppies as young as 8 weeks old, as some over the counter flea prevention options are not suitable for puppies that young.

I like to use a flea comb dipped in a solution of dawn dish soap to comb off the fleas. That is safe and dipping the flea comb in the soapy water will kill the fleas. I would comb them daily and manually remove the ticks. All puppies get intestinal parasites from their Mom. Giving nemex every two weeks once they are four weeks old will take care of them. You can apply Advantage to the mother and place a drop on each pup when they are six weeks old to kill the fleas.
