If the bump starts to bother pumpkin, place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent scratching and schedule an exam.

If it truly was not there yesterday, this is most likely to be a bug bite (tick, mosquito, spider, bee, other), dog/cat bite (if he was wrestling with any other friends lately), or some other random trauma (crashing through a spiky bush or catching it on something). If you're unsure how long it's been there, add cyst, benign or malignant tumor, and others to the list of possibilities. I'd slap some neosporin on there twice daily and watch it. If no improvement in 3 days (or if worsening at any time), it's time to see the vet. If this just showed up, I would recommend having a veterinarian take a look at this. It may be a type of tumor that needs to be removed called a mast cell tumor. These bumps in Boomer's ears could be caused by ear mites, impetigo (bacterial infection on the ears), or allergies (less likely to happen in a 16 week old puppy. I would have him seen by a vet today or tomorrow to have his ear examined. The vet can diagnose what is causing the bumps and can prescribe treatment for it.
