Puppy recovering from diarrhea, losing appetite on milk. What to feed?

Milo is ridiculously cute!! My main concern is that he start drinking. You can offer water with a little chicken broth in it. (But always make sure there is fresh water too.) Start a probiotic like Purina Fortiflora. Try a bland diet (half plain boiled/canned chicken half plain cooked white rice) for a few days and I expect the diarrhea to improve after 1-3 days. (Then transition back to her regular diet slowly over 3-5 days.) If at ANY time he is lethargic, vomiting, not wanting to eat, or you have other concerns, you need to go to the vet clinic right away to make sure it’s nothing more serious. It is a good sign that she improved with a bland diet, I recommend returning to chicken and rice with a probiotic such as fortiflora for 48 hours then slowly adding a sensitive puppy food (royal canin gastrointestinal junior or calibra puppy is my preferred option). Add kibble at no more than 20% every 2 days to allow the gut to adjust

Royal Canin is a high quality dog food, and I would use that instead of Drools. Switching foods is not recommended, as it caused GI upset, and you don't want to make Brownie's diarrhea worse. Be sure to give him Royal Canin puppy food, as that will provide all the nutrients he needs.

About 75% of the time ongoing diarrhea in puppies is related to intestinal parasites or diet. So have your veterinarian ensure he does not have any parasites including giardia. If he is negative and has been properly dewormed, I should start him on a prescription low fat diet that is highly digestible. I use Purina ProPlan Veterinary Diets EN as it is safe for use in growing puppies. If this diet does not resolve the diarrhea, he may require a diet for a food allergy such as a hydrolyzed formula. If Bruno has had diarrhea and decrease appetite for 3 days I would recommend a visit to the vet. A young pup may have parasites, viral disease or a foreign body that can cause diarrhea. But at his age he can become debilitated quickly when sick so a vet visit at this point is probably a good idea. I hope he recovers quickly.

It is important that puppies are on a good quality puppy food in order to support their growth and development. All new foods can cause some diarrhoea and it helps to introduce new foods over a few days as well as adding probiotics to help the bowel. If he is currently tolerating wet food best then a puppy wet formula would be recommended. Ensure also he is up to date with deworming treatments as intestinal worms can contribute to such signs also

Any food that says "puppy" should be just fine. You can continue to feed wet, or you can use dry. If she prefers moist food, you could even add a little water to the dry food. All puppies that aren't large breeds can use the normal puppy food. Large breeds need different mineral percentages for their extra large bones.
