My 4-month-old puppy hasn't been dewormed. Is it too late to start?

  If Bella is not on monthly preventive( HeartGard, Sentinel, Interceptor, etc.), then she should be dewormed every 3 months. Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites. This way, you can be sure she is getting the correct dewormer and correct dose.

  Hello! It is okay to start deworming at 8 weeks old, for sure. I'm not sure which product you are using, but you could go ahead and give her the 8 week dose, then check with your vet (let them know which product you are using), and continue deworming as recommended by your vet. You could always submit a stool sample to your vet as well, as there can be parasites present that the routine wormers don't kill off. Best of luck with your new puppy!

  Puppies should be dewormed multiple times and have their stool STILL checked for unusual parasites like coccidia and giardia. He will need another vaccine booster 3 weeks after the one the breeder gave. At that time I’d have him dewormed again and bring a stool sample. Your Vet will also start him on heartworm prevention which also has a dewormed in it.
  
  Besides taking the breeders word for it or seeing it on paper work there is mo other way to tell.
