My puppy has coccidiosis. Why is his belly bloated and hard?

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 11 days old

10 week pup was diagnosed with coccidiosis, was word at vets office and given antibiotic for the week. His stomach I'd bloated and feels hard. What should I do?

Your pup sure is adorable! His belly is most likely bloated because of the intestinal parasites and should go down over the next week. I would make sure he is also being dewormed for more routine intestinal parasites (like roundworms and hookworms) to make sure he is covered. You may notice some softer stool during this time but vomiting and diarrhea should not occur and you should contact your vet if you notice this.
