Is bright yellow, runny poop normal for my 1-week-old puppy?

I just had puppies one week ago and noticed the runt is having a bright yellow stool, is this normal? He also dragged it along the other puppies

This can be an indication of irritation or infection of the GI tract. I'd have him checked out by a vet. Be sure to bring his mother and siblings with him to the appointment since he cannot be separated from his mother.

Color changes in stools can happen with changes in diet or several internal things. Sometimes, yellow can indicate an issue with the liver or intestinal parasites. I would recommend having Milo examined by a vet to see what could be going on.

Yellow/tan colored stools are very abnormal. This is generally an issue with the liver. It could be the sign of a sign of liver or biliary disease or it could simply mean that your dog’s poop moved too fast through the GI tract to pick up the bile which changes the color to the normal brown you recognize. I suggest you start a probiotic (one made for dogs) to give for a few weeks and also have a fecal test done by your vet to rule out internal parasites (worms).

It may just be due to something he ate if it's only been once or twice. But, some parasites such as coccidia or giardia may cause yellowed runny stool. I would recommend having a veterinarian check a stool sample for parasites if they are having multiple runny stools.

As a first approach I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. My 1-month-old German Shepherd puppy has yellow poop. Is this normal?

Hello. I am sorry Zack is having trouble with his feces. Yellow poop is usually a sign of either diarrhea (gastric upset), mal-absorptive disease (German Shephards are prone to getting Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficency "EPI"), or worms. Also, poop colour changes with various diets. If your puppy is not dewormed and is still bright and happy and active, and eating/drinking well, I would start by deworming him. At one month of age he should be transitioning from milk from his mother to solid foods, and this may make the feces a less yellow colour as well. If the feces is very greasy and bad smelling, and if Zack is very thin, then I would be worried about EPI. If your puppy is bright and happy, and eating well, and the diarrhea is solid or soft/solid, then just deworm and start weaning Zack onto a good quality puppy food. If there is diarrhea present or Zack is lethargic I would have him seen by a veterinarian.

My sick puppy's yellow, infrequent poop on bland diet: Normal?

His poop is bright yellow b/c of his current diet (just rice and cottage cheese). He should have some protein in there, so I would suggest adding chicken or ground turkey. Also as long as he is not straining to poop, there is no cause for concern for the fewer stools, especially since he isn't eating anything with much substance. As long as he is acting normal, there is no major cause for concern here. Slowly transition him back to his normal diet once your vet says he is good to do so, and his stools should return to normal. I am sorry to hear about your puppy! I would recommend scheduling an examination at a veterinarian for Bolt and bringing a sample of the stool with you. One of the most common causes of diarrhea in puppies is intestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms, as well as Coccidia and Giardia. We don't normally see the parasites with the naked eye, so tests in the vet clinic must be done to test for the parasites. If your puppy becomes lethargic, starts vomiting, or has bloody diarrhea these can be signs of a virus called Parvovirus and the puppy should be seen by the vet right away.

Why is my bottle-fed puppy's poop yellow with bumps? Is it normal?

This is likely just secondary to the milk replacement you are feeding him. Just keep a close eye on him and make sure he is eating well, continuing to have bowel movements and urinating. Also, make sure you are feeding him every 3 hours. I hope this helps and good luck!

My puppy's yellow, soft poop and changed appetite. Is he okay?

Did anyone feed him anything other than his puppy food? If so he may have an upset stomach. He can also have one if he has intestinal parasites or a virus.
