Puppy's booster shot is a day late. Do I have to restart vaccines?

It's best for Milo's immunity to have his second vaccine given four weeks after the first, but if you cannot get him into the vet at that time, do not put it off longer than a week. He will be fine with it being a week out. Best of luck!

Depending on his age and vaccination history, he made need to restart the 5in1 series again and have 2 doses 3-4 weeks apart. The best thing would be to have a vet examine him and evaluate his vaccine history and determine which vaccines he needs and when.

It's great that you're being conscientious about her vaccines! From an immunologic perspective, nothing significant is changing in Lola's immune system between now and Saturday, so getting the booster done then will be fine. From a legal perspective, the rabies vaccine expires exactly 1 year from the initial booster, so she will be considered "unvaccinated" for a couple days. I wouldn't be too worried about you boostering her a couple days late - but to be on the safe side, just limit her exposure to strangers or other dogs for those few days until she's vaccinated again, to avoid the rare chance of someone getting bitten and inquiring about her rabies status. As long as you don't go 6 weeks in between boosters you are ok. Beyond 6 weeks you are going into a time period where a good immune response could be less likely and then another booster would be advised. So as long as you are under 6 weeks between vaccines you should be fine. Good luck with Amber.

So, the first vaccination typically contains 3-5 diseases (parvovirosis, distemper, infectious hepatitis and canine influenza and leptospirosis). The same vaccine is repeated 2-4 weeks later. After that, booster is given once a year. Finally, rabies is vaccinated depending on the current legal requirements.

Not to worry! You can go to the vet at any time and start a series of vaccinations. At the age of almost six months, any vaccine is safe to administer. If Bowser has never received any vaccine previously, he may require more than one to complete the series and receive adequate protection.
