My puppy has blackhead-like bumps near her vulva. Is this normal?

Those black specks are basically blackheads (comedones) and the bump is likely a follicular cyst. Nothing is too worriesome. I would use a Benzoyl Peroxide product like for acne. NOT hydrogen peroxide. I suggest this one. The ones you buy over the counter for humans are not the correct strength. This product is more concentrated. This looks like pigment around her vulva. If it is new then it could be from skin irritation or licking. If you haven’t seen her licking and there is no redness it may not require any specific treatment. If there are other skin lesions or she seems itchy or you see licking I’d recommend having your vet examine her.

These are very common in the inguinal and genital area. They are clinically insignificant and should not cause any problems. I hope this is helpful!

I would recommend that you have these spots examined by a vet. It could be a small pyoderma or skin infection, which is common in young dogs, or could be related to urine pooling in the area (especially if she has a recessed vulva). Or it could be something else. The vet will examine it and may take a small sample to be examined under a microscope.

That could be fairly normal and could be possible (a picture would definitively help to be more precise and you can upload it by requesting a consultation ). I would suggest not squeeze them, as it could create inflammation and eventually it could get infected. Monitor it and keep the area clean for the next 3-4 days.

It sounds like Teddy has some irritation around her vulva. Causes of irritation can be skin infections, bladder infection or contact allergies. Definitely keeping the hair soft and the area clean help significantly in the long run. You can wash the area daily with antibacterial soap and rinse well. Many times I will test these pups for a urinary tract infection as well as a yeast infection on the skin. Take Teddy in to have her checked out if it is not improving or getting worse after 1 week or sooner if you just want to have her checked.

Based on the photos you provided, it appears as though Kahlua may have a skin infection with the red bumps on the abdomen and near her vulva. I would recommend having her examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate treatment can be recommended. She will likely need an oral antibiotic as well as topical therapy to treat this.
