Puppy bitten by cat, breathing heavily & in pain. What should I do?

When an animal is hit by a car sometimes there are injuries you can't see from the outside. They can bleed internally, herniate organs from the belly in to the chest, get contusions (bruising) of the lung or air can get trapped outside of the lungs (pneumothorax), rupture their bladders, brain trauma. Cats can also breath heavily when they are in shock. Sadly there is nothing that you can do alone. He needs a Vet to listen to his lungs and evaluate him for internal bleeding and shock. Just keep him warms and comfortable if you can't get him anywhere I wish you both the best!

Yes, with the breathing changes and vocalisations you describe i recommend an urgent emergency visit in order to assess and treat his injuries. Fight injuries or road traffic accidents are common causes of trauma in cats and internal injuries are quite possible. Keep him warm and rested until you can have him seen

I am very concerned about a few different problems with Malai. He likely has severe nerve damage to his spinal cord if he is not able to walk. The fluid in the abdomen could indicate internal bleeding, or a hernia. I am particularly concerned about a diaphragmatic hernia which would cause compression to the lungs and cause Malai to have trouble breathing. Malai is likely not eating, because he is in extreme discomfort. Given all of these conditions, he needs professional help and soon as possible. He needs good pain medication and possibly surgery to keep him from having life-threatening complications. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do for her at home right now. He needs to go to a veterinary clinic as soon as possible for treatment. I hope that helps and Malai gets better soon.

Poor kitty! Your pet sounds like he needs to be hospitalized and properly diagnosed to find out the underlying cause of his illness. They will likely need to run some tests (bloodwork, x-rays, etc) in order to diagnose what's wrong. Whether that be an internal musculoskeletal injury, heart condition, stroke, etc. I am not sure what injections your pet was given, but it definitely doesn't seem like it is enough treatment for your very ill pet. He is in critical condition so I would advise to making him in right away! Best of luck with your kitty.

I'm sorry to hear that Topsy has been going through this! It is concerning that you are now noticing breathing changes. This could indicate that Topsy has experienced a rib fracture from the bite, puncture into her lung fields, or is extremely painful from a more systemic infection. At this point, Topsy will need to go back to the vet and will likely need chest x-rays and other supportive medications or treatments, depending upon what is found. Breathing changes are an urgent matter and should be addressed quickly. I hope that she is on the mend soon!

I'm so sorry that Thullo is injured. If he can't move this is a very serious injury and needs immediate veterinary medical treatment. Panting in a cat is also almost always an emergency indicating extreme pain or respiratory disease. I recommend you take Thullo to see a veterinarian immediately. Once a veterinarian assesses Thullo they can decide if X-rays or blood work is needed. They can also start pain medication and emergency supportive care. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do at home to help Thullo so it's best that you seek veterinary care right away.
