My 4-month-old puppy was bitten by a rabid dog. What do I do?

Unfortunately , in most countries it is not allowed to treat a dog with rabies, or bitten by a rabid dog. the bitten dog will have to go into quarantine and if it develops rabies, it will usually be euthanized. So I am afraid the only vet that can answer your question is a vet from the Philippines, as this is where you live and he would know the legal situation.

If your dog is over due then he should be boostered and put in a 6 month quarantine. If he is NOT vaccinated and the dog that bit him has been confirmed to be Rabies positive your dog should be euthanized. If you are not sure if the dog that bit him is truly positive for rabies then Bruno should be quarantined for 6 months. I wish you the best!

Yoour brother needs to be seen by a doctor now. The doctor will take caree of his wound and decide whether he needs rabies shots. Your dog needs a rabies booster now 1 year after getting the initial vaccination. The vomiting, not eating , lethargy and listlessness can be caused by a gastrointestinal infection or a parvovirus infection. Morty also needs to be seen by a veterinarian for this. There is a usually a 10 day quarantine period after an animal breaks the skin of a person. If the animal has rabies in it's saliva - it show signs of rabies within 10 days. This doesn't not mean that the animal doesn't have rabies- just that it couldn't have transmitted it at the time of the bite. Rabies can have a long incubation period. Rabies should be taken very seriously because it is a fatal virus. I would recommend getting Tofy vaccinated as soon as possible. I would recommend consulting with a local veterinarian on what happened and have an exam done on Tofy. They can give you the necessary information.
