Puppy's belly bumpy & dark after flea treatment. What to do?

I am so sorry that Rowdy is having this problem. The discoloration on the tip of Rowdy's penis appears to be a normal color change. Puppies generally have very pink bellies which become darker as they mature. So, I would not worry about that. From the pictures, it looks like the areas on Rowdy's belly are crusts that could be a sign of a bacterial skin infection which is also called pyoderma. Here is an article on pyoderma. Sometimes we can resolve them with topical treatment (antibacterial shampoos, sprays or wipes), but sometimes they require oral or injectable antibiotics. However, we still needs to look for the cause of the pyoderma. Since we know that Rowdy had fleas that may be the reason for the pyoderma. You may also be dealing with a flea allergy even if you have treated for fleas. Once a flea bites a flea allergy dog, that dog can stay itchy for a week. I'm not quite sure what it is, either! It could be small amounts of dried blood in the pores, dirt, or debris from the bumps healing. I can see a few more pustules in the second picture, so it looks like Panda hasn't completely resolved the original issue. You can try a follicle flushing shampoo, like Dechra DermaBenSs Shampoo which contains benzoyl peroxide, but Panda may need oral antibiotics to clear up any infection present. Also, make sure she is on a good flea preventative as sometimes flea bites can present this way. If it isn't looking better in a couple days, Panda should definitely go to the vet for diagnosis.

Comboguard should be adequate flea prevention, but if there are a lot of fleas in his environment, it is possible that Harvard is still being bit by fleas. The pictures you posted look like a skin infection. Puppies commonly get a sterile (no bacterial) pyoderma that will go away on its own. I would continue to watch these little bumps. If they appear to be spreading or if Harvard is licking or scratching at them, then you may want to check in with your vet to see if it is time to start antibiotics. You can try using an antibacterial shampoo to cleanse the area, I like Dechra TrizChlor 4 Shampoo.

If you suspect the flea treatment is responsible for this i recommend washing your dog very well with an anti allergenic dog shampoo, it will take several days to clear up but other than that no other treatment is usually required.

Oh no, poor Archie! Flea treatments at most should only be given two weeks apart, so if you gave them to him in less time than that, then yes it could be a reaction to the treatment. Shar peis can also be prone to allergies, and that could be cause of these big bumps on his body. You can giving him an Epsom salt bath or an oatmeal both to see if that helps with the bumps. If not, I would take him into the vet. The vet can diagnose what is causing the bumps and how best to treat it.

Oh dear, poor Peanut! Some dogs are allergic to fleas and can actually develop bacterial skin infections as a result of ongoing scratching and licking. The first two photos look most suspicious for signs of a skin infection, but the third photo looks more suspicious for a raised benign or malignant mass. I'm glad that you're planning on taking Peanut to his vet when it is financially feasible for you. In the meantime, make sure that all pets in your house have been treated with a high quality flea preventative, such as Nexgard, Bravecto, or K9 Advantix II (or Advantage, Revolution, or Bravecto for cats if you also have cats in the house). This can be caused by various reasons such as fleas, mites ,fungal infection, bacterial infection and allergies. the first 4 needs to be ruled out before we start treating for allergies. in order to do that first de-flea Pistol with a high quality flea treatment such as advantage spot on, if it doesn't help - take him to the vet in order to check for/treat the other possibilities. If everything is ruled out, then an allergy treatment can be started. Usually an hypoallergenic food is a good way to start together with anti histamines. if it doesn't help - the best solution is a medication called Apoquel which treats allergies with great success and without side effects.
