My 8-week puppy ate too much food, bloated, diarrhea. What do I do?

It may be that Teddy just ate too much. Keep a close eye on it, and if he starts trying to throw up but can't, has excessive drooling, starts pacing, or is anxious, have him seen by a vet immediately.

If she is resting quietly, not vomiting, and having no breathing issues then she is probably fine for you to just monitor her now. I strongly suggest you don't feed her anything for 24 hours but make sure she has plenty of water available to drink. If she is having any troubles then she needs to go to the emergency vet. You can monitor him at home for the next 2-3 hours as long as he is not extremely bloated. Eating too much kibbles is more dangerous that eating wet food but I assume that at his age he ate some wet food only ? Some dogs are very thirsty after eating too much food but please do not offer him a lot of water as this may cause further stomach distension. So, your puppy may be sleepy and lethargic for a the next couple of hours then he should get better. However, if he looks in pain and the abdomen is hard and very bloated you should contact your local vets to get help.

Hello! This is what we call "food bloat" which happens when dogs manage to eat a massive amount of food! Their stomachs stretch with the huge amount of food, causing the bloated bellies. When people bring these pets to me, we usually recommend putting them on IV fluids until the bloating resolves, and not feeding at all. Their stomachs could potentially rupture, when the kibbles swell, and mix with water. So, at this point, I wouldn't suggest feeding them. Ideally they should be checked by their vet, to see if they are okay recovering at home, or whether they need treatment at the clinic.

The change in diet could lead the diarrhea and larger belly if Appa is eating it really fast. Keep an eye on her for now. If you see vomiting, the diarrhea continues over the next 24 hours, she becomes lethargic, or she stops eating, have her seen by a vet. I hope this helps!

The passing of bowel motions is positive, as is the fact she is willing to drink water. If she begins vomiting, especially empty retching you will need to source emergency care for her but otherwise report to your regular vet in the morning. A probiotic supplement will help restore gut balance once the over indulgence has passed

If he is showing any abdominal pain, he may need to be evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment.
