How to potty train my puppy and teach them to bark to go out?

Each time you let him out to potty, ask him to ring the bell first and feed him a treat when he finishes. Leave the bell on the door and when he rings it let her out to potty. If he starts to play or dawdle outside, bring him in. This will prevent him from ringing the bell when he sees a squirrel (or at least prevent him from learning that he can get you to let him out to play instead of just to potty)

It's completely normal for Ziggy to still be having accidents in the house at this age - most puppies are not reliably housetrained until 8-12 months of age. For now, since he is still having accidents, I would recommend taking him out very frequently (every 20-30 minutes, unless he is sleeping) - praise and reward him with a treat as soon as he pees or poops outside. Inside, he needs to be supervised at all times to prevent accidents. When you aren't able to watch him, he should be in a crate or a puppy-proofed room where accidents will be easy to clean up. It sounds like you may need to go back to the basics with Percy. I sometimes recommend a house training 'boot camp' weekend where you keep Percy either confined to a crate or tethered to you so that he is within your sight at all times. Let him out every 2-3 hours on a leash and don't pay any attention to him until he urinates or defecates, then be sure to give plenty of praise and good treats. Some people will train dogs to ring a bell in order to ask to go outdoors, but if Percy likes to go out and play training this behavior could backfire and you might be letting him out constantly.
