Why is my Pomeranian dog coughing, vomiting, and refusing to eat?

Please, take Axel to your local vets for an appointment. Fully clinical examination and potentially x-ray of the neck and chest should allow making the definite diagnosis. If the cough is frequent and is bothering your dog, your vet may prescribe him a course of anti-inflammatory medications or/and antibiotics.

It sounds as Kobi is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

There are a plethora of causes for cough and vomiting/regurgitation which is what it sounds like he has. Chest x-rays are the first diagnostic needed to assess the lungs for disease, so I would recommend having some taken. If they were taken initially, retaking them would be a good idea. With the vomiting, abdominal x-rays could be helpful as well. This is a case where a consultation would be helpful as I could ask more pointed questions and perhaps guide you with a better list of likely causes to the issue. Citirizine is an antihistamine that can be helpful if a dog has some allergies or even mild airway irritation. If Shero is coughing so much that he is bringing up phlegm and mucus I would start to worry about a respiratory infection that may need treatment with antibiotics. In these little tiny puppies I tend to treat more aggressively since their immune systems are not fully mature and they can't always fight off infections or other illnesses. I also worry that little sick dogs and cats can become hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) if they are not able to keep down their food. This can happen if a puppy is coughing and regurgitates his stomach contents a few too many times. I would get Shero back to a veterinarian since his signs are worsening. They may recommend bloodwork and possibly chest radiographs. I hope this helps!

Poor Jax. He likely had Kennel cough (upper respiratory infection). His cough is productive and poses risk for traveling lower in the airway causing further complications, so it is imperative you get Jax seen by your vet and placed on a short course of antibiotics to clear things up right away. This is the only effective treatment for Kennel Cough in dogs.

Affected dogs will typically have a gagging cough that may or may not bring up a white foamy material. They can sneeze and have eye or nose discharge. Some dogs are lethargic and will not eat as much. If his symptoms persist until tomorrow, he will need to see his veterinarian. If he is refusing to eat or drink, then I would have him seen today.
