I just got a new puppy. Does Petco offer monthly pet insurance?

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Congrats on your puppy! We start vaccines (DHPP) around 7-8 weeks of age. You can set up his first exam and deworming now but he is too young to start vaccines. We give the DHPP vaccine every 3-4 weeks starting around 7-8 weeks until they receive 2 past 12 weeks of age. I’m a fan of Pet insurance. Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! I would call your local PetCo that offers VetCo to see if they will do this type of exam. Mist vaccine clinics only do vaccines and not exams or provide records past vaccinations. I would recommend that you find an established Vet for Piper. Depending on your dog and her lifestyle, pet insurance can be worth it. Unfortunately, pet insurance is worth the most for accidents and illnesses. Often the plans do not cover routine health care, but some plans do. Most plans also have a variety of options, so you can decrease the cost of the plan by decreasing the coverage. I have a number of clients that use Trupanion who has covered $10,000 bills without any questions. But those owners have a higher premium than some of the other companies who may not cover the same amount. I wish I could give you a clear answer, but for young dogs, I think a moderate plan for the first year is always a good idea. That will give you a good idea about if you think the plan is worth it long term. I would recommend contacting 3 companies and compare what they cover, your deductible, and your monthly cost. If I had to chose a few, I would compare Trupanion, PetPlan and Nationwide, but there are other good companies out there too. I hope that was helpful. We are not associated with a Veterinary hospital but are part of PetCo which offers veterinary services with VetCo. There are other hospitals that have wellness programs, which is kind of like health insurance but it isn't accepted at any other facility. I personally recommend PetPlan but there are many options out there, just make sure you are not taking an insurance with bad reputation, too cheap usually means they will not cover a lot of things. you should look minimally for 4-5 K$ cover per condition.
