How do I order my dog's vet prescription meds online from Petco?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! In the US we do not charge to write prescriptions (as far as I know). The laws in the UK must be different. Robenacoxib are prescription so there is no way to get the drug with out your Vet approving the prescription, My suggestion is to ask for a larger supply, 3 months or more with refills. Unfortunately, we cannot (legally and ethically) advise medication without having an established patient-doctor relationship. It is also dangerous for us to advise medication without examining the animal and fully understanding their condition and medical history. The only place to get a prescription is through a veterinary clinic. However, some vets may be comfortable writing prescriptions for well-established clients that they trust know the conditions they are treating for. This service is strictly for advice only. The law requires a Veterinary Client Patient Relationship and to have this an in person examination of the pet is needed to prescribe medications. We are here to provide advice and support. Petco carries a variety of flea and tick medication over the counter. You can only get a prescription product from a veterinarian if they have examined Bruno. Petco does offer vaccine clinics but you would need to check with the specific services individually. Unfortunately we cannot give a prescription for these medications, it's illegal for us to do so without seeing him in person. You will need a prescription to get these medications, and in order to get that, you will have to take him into the vet. I'd make an appointment for him to be seen in the next couple of days. If you live near a Petco that has a full service hospital then yes, you could talk to the vet about refilling your cat’s prescription. If your Petco has a Vetco vaccine clinic then the vet performs vaccines and routine preventative care only and would not be able to authorize refills. Unfortunately in order to prescribe medication we are legally required to have examined the animal to establish a “vet-client-patient relationship” so we cannot call in prescriptions with online consults. You will need to touch base with your regular vet to get Kylo’s medication.
