My old dog pees constantly & can't walk. UTI? Should I put her down?

At his age, you need to consider his overall quality of life. The tumor is likely to grow. I would look at how happy he is. If he is miserable by trying to urinate and not having a good stream then that is uncomfortable for him. IF he has no appetite or can't swallow from the tumor, then there is no quality of life and it is most humane to help him pass in minimal amount of pain. If he is still happy and enjoys life, then you can let him continue until these things become a problem then tell him good bye

It sounds like poor Shelby is declining which is normal for a dog her age and breed. She has several different issues going on. The two options you have are to take her to the vet to be worked up for her arthritis and excessive urination. This would likely include X-rays of her hips and spine, blood work and a urinalysis. There are many good arthritis medications out there for dogs so Shelby may benefit from one of those. The excessive utination may be due to something like a UTI, diabetes, or kidney disease. The other option would be to opt for humane euthanasia of Shelby. I can understand that this is a hard decision for anyone to make. Ruby is likely very much in mourning over the loss of her companion dog. She may be in a lot of pain with arthritis (not using her back legs), and she may also have a neurological condition called cauda equina, which affects the nerves regulating tail movement , urination and defecation and sometimes movement of the hind legs. I suggest you have her examined by your vet and have a discussion with him about the prognosis of this getting better and her quality of life. 15 years is a huge age for a Rotti and she just might be close to the end of her natural life span.
