Are there natural foods that effectively repel ticks from my dog?

No, this is not safe to feed to your dog. It contains garlic powder. Garlic is toxic to dogs and causes anemia. Please do not give this to her again. If you want to control fleas, I'd recommend a chewable like NexGard or Bravecto. Best of luck.

Your best option would be to use a monthly preventive to protect Teddy from ticks.. There are many on the market that are effective against ticks. Brands of topical products include Frontline, Revolution, K9 Advantix. I am really sorry but to answer your question, there are NO natural remedies that are proven to work for fleas and ticks. They just don't work. If your dog did not do well on Bravecto there are many other products available that don't have the same active ingredient as Bravecto. You could try Simparica or Nexgard. Are you 100% positive the Bravecto caused the seizure? I hear this a lot from owners. They say the dog had a seizure a week or so after the Bravecto administration and peg that as the cause. It is highly unlikely to have been the cause that many days after ingestion. When dogs have seizures the most likely cause is underlying epilepsy. It is rarely due to medication administration. The other option is to try a Seresto collar. Many of my clients love this option and it does work well. One collar works for up to 8 months so it is cost effective too! Shepherd breeds should ways use these drugs with care due to the possible presence of the MDR gene, a genetic component that can cause oversensitivity to some drugs. Other products that are natural that have been shown to have some repellant and insecticidal activity include coconut oil and cedar oil.

Unfortunately, there are no natural products that kill fleas and ticks. The only proven methods of killing fleas and ticks are with spot on products like Frontline and Advantix. I recommend using one of them on your dog to prevent fleas and ticks.
