Is it okay to mix a small amount of chicken meat with my puppy's food?

You could add some meat or chicken to your puppies dog food but your puppy needs to have some dog food because it is nutritionally balanced for a puppy. Feeding just meat/ chicken and rice is not recommended because your puppy would not be getting the proper nutrition. I highly recommend a balanced puppy food (Purina puppy chow for example) as her main source of nutrition while she transitions from nursing and onwards. She can have small pieces of chicken as treats or for training.

Occasional treats of plain, unseasoned, boiled chicken is probably ok. However, it is best only to use in special circumstances, like during training sessions. This will likely be hard to do as Coco has been eating it her whole life. Having a little chicken mixed in with her food isn't bad for her health. You can put in some boiled white meat chicken (no bones or skin) with her food. That way, it's better than store bought deli chicken. You can also try to wean her off the chicken. Add a little less every day over the course of two weeks until she is eating the dog food only. I hope this helps.

If you are feeding your pup a high quality puppy formulated food, she doesn't need any additional food with it. Too much additional food can caused her to be overweight, which will lead to heart problems, diabetes, and joint problems among others. As an occasional treat (once or twice a week), you can give her small amounts of cooked meat or dog treats from the pet store :-)

No this is not an adequate diet for your puppy, your puppy needs a diet very high in meat, most of his diet should consist of meat. the easiest and usually cheapest way to feed a puppy is to buy a ready made dry food from the petshop.
