My dogs are peeing inside. How can I find out which one is doing it?

I would recommend to rule out something like an infection in Presley's bladder before you give up on her. Since she can't talk, you don't know the reasoning behind this behavior. The veterinarian will look at her urine sample to see if there are any abnormalities which may cause this behavior. Go from there. If it does look to be more behavioral, speak with a trainer, read some books about housebreaking difficult dogs. Most dogs can be properly housebroken but not all learn in the same fashion. Inappropriate urination occurs when a dog regresses to urinating inside the house. This behavior is more common in male dogs that have not been neutered, although it can occur in non-neutered dogs and cats. The first thing to rule out is inappropriate urination that occurs when there is an underlying health problem which is causing a dog to urinate inside the house. It may have lost control of the muscles in its bladder or sphincter, or there may be an infection (UTI) or other condition as drinking too much (seen in many medical conditions) that is making it difficult for the dog to hold it in long enough to get outside. When a medical caused has been ruled out we can think about the second type of inappropriate urination which is behavioral (such as marking). I am sorry that you are having to go through this! If I read the question correctly.... They were both not having accidents for an entire year and then it started again... That certainly seems strange. The first thing that I like to do is rule out a medical problem, especially in Scooter. Kidney problems, bladder infections, diabetes, Cushings Dz are just a few of the conditions that can cause excess urination. If he has a medical problem and is urinating in the house, your puppy might be just thinking it is ok to urinate in the house. I would try to see if you can figure out if it is small puddles very often or larger puddles. The veterinarian can collect a urine sample and run a urinalysis to help diagnose a problem. They may see something like a low specific gravity (concentration of urine) and need to run blood work. You can also take your puppy in to have a urinalysis done as well. If it is not a medical problem, then you will have to try to re-train them. The puppy will most likely be easier. I would recommend going back to crate training. The places where the accidents have happened have to be cleaned very well. You may need to keep Scooter in a small room with an easy to clean floor when your are gone. Good Luck! Spanking is never recommended as a form of training. Ideally, Paco should be physically examined by your veterinarian to diagnose any underlying medical cause for his behavior. Once medical causes have been ruled out, you can focus on behavioral issues. Consider crate training Paco to "remind" him he shouldn't do his business inside. The crate should be just big enough for him to stand, turn around and lay down. If he isn't on a schedule for going outside, start one. Dogs thrive on routine and he may respond favorably to a schedule. Don't leave him unsupervised indoors. Use a leash and attach it to your hip. Watch for his cues to go such as circling, whining or sniffing about. If possible, restrict access to the bathroom or other areas where he is going. Use an enzymatic cleaner, such as Nature's Miracle, to thoroughly clean soiled areas. When he goes outdoors, have a small treat ready and praise/reward him consistently when he does his business in the appropriate place.

There are several disease that can cause this whixhbwoukd make it not his fault. Your vet needs to examine him to check for diabetes or kidney disease or a bladder infection or stones . These can both cause more frequent urinating in the early stages. if these test are all normal then your vet can prescribe behavioral medicines to help
