Why is my hyper dog suddenly sleeping a lot and acting strange?

Lethargy can be a sign of illness, but it doesn't point to any one particular issue, and is rather a symptom than a cause. Differentials are many, from any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. The approach must be logic, A check up is needed if signs last for more than 24hours. Loss of appetite and lethargy can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities.
