My dog is sleeping more than usual. Should I take him to the vet?

Lack of energy can be the sign of many things that go from just being tired to actually representing a problem like due to pain for example. If he is otherwise fine, I recommend you keep a close eye on him for now. Loss of appetite and lethargy can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Dexter evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Rambo could have a number of problems that could cause lethargy - anemia, tick borne diseases or other infections could make him seem sleepier than usual. I would recommend having your vet examine him - they may recommend checking some blood work as well.

I'm sorry Moose doesn't seem well! Lethargy is a very general sign of illness in dogs, and can be caused by many things including systemic illness, inflammation, infection, or injury. Given that he has eaten this morning and the symptoms just started, I would keep an eye on him for the next 48-72 hours. Should the lethargy continue over this time period, or he develops other signs such as anorexia, vomiting, and/or diarrhea, I would take Moose into the vet for a health check.

Lethargy is unfortunately a very vague symptom that can be caused by a number of things including illness, GI upset, infections, diseases, pain, stress, etc. Since it has been ongoing for several days and hasn't improved, it is a good idea to schedule a visit with your vet to rule out a more serious issue or illness.

These behaviors are signs of illness, but unfortunately there are very general signs of many illnesses. Without seeing Rilo in person, I can't say what is going on. I'd have him seen by a vet in the morning.

It is normal for dogs energy to levels to decrease slightly as they age. You should consider if Calhoun is still interested in the same activities, or if he no longer plays or gets excited for walks, for example. You know Calhoun best, so if you are concerned that he seems "off" I recommend having him seen by a vet who can perform the appropriate diagnostic tests.
