Is Hill's puppy food enough? How to stop my puppy eating poop?

I would not recommend feeding your dog raw egg as it could potentially give him (and you!) salmonella. Also, the diet you described is not complete or balanced with the vitamins and minerals your growing pup needs. I would recommend feeding Harley a commercial diet for puppies like Science Diet, Purina or Royal Canin. If your dog is getting all the nutrients he needs in his diet he may be less likely to eat his feces. I would also recommend having your pup dewormed if you have not already. I hope this helps. My best recommendation is to have Rocky on a large breed puppy formula of high quality dog food. My preferred brands include Hill's, Royal Canin and Purina. Because all puppy foods differ in their caloric content per cup, feed the recommended amount based on his weight that is listed on the back of the food bag. I would also recommend weighing Rocky every 10-14 days because he will be gaining weight quickly and you will need to adjust the amount of food you are feeding him based on his weight. Eating his poop is a normal puppy behavior and probably not because of hunger or decreased nutrition. It is however this is a habit that needs to be broken so clean up his feces as often as possible and correct the behavior whenever you see it. I hope this helps. If Snowball is having normal bowel movements and is not vomiting on the Hill's diet then it is likely fine for her. However, Hill's Sensitive Stomach and Skin is not labeled for use in puppies. I'd suspect Snowball is no longer growing at a puppy rate by 10 months old, but it would still be wise to check in with your veterinarian regarding if she can be placed in this adult food at this time. Sadly, there isn't a great way to stop this gross behavior. There are products that are just really high amounts of MSG, that sometimes make the stool less appealing to dogs, but I don't love that idea for puppies (or really any dog). For the litter box, you need to block Gretchen's assess to it and for eating her own stool, try to take her for walks for her bowel movements whatever possible so you can pick it up right away. You can offer a high value treat right after a bowel movement when walking so she learns to look for that special treat instead of turning around to instantly eat the feces. To be honest, it's not a habit that is easy to break. As far as the diet question, there is actually increasing evidence that grain-free diets may be harmful, so I recommend staying away from them and feeding a regular high quality puppy diet. Royal Canin, Hills, and Purina are all good brands.

It could be Luella Rose is suffering from a nutritional deficiency, she could have intestinal worms, or it may be she simply likes the taste. Make sure you are feeding her a high quality dog food like Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. Also make sure her deworming treatments are up to date. Great question! Because Ohu is a small breed dog, I would recommend feeding him the Hill's Small Paws adult food. It's an excellent food for small breed dogs like Ohu. I do recommend slowly transitioning from his puppy food to his new adult food to avoid stomach upset. To do this, feed him 75% old food, 25% new food for three to four days, then give him 50% old, 50% new. Again feed this mixture for three to four days, then feed him 25% old food, 75% new food. After feeding him this mixture for another three to four days, give him 100% of the new food. If he does have any stomach upset during this time, such as diarrhea, increase the amount of old food and decrease the amount of new food until the diarrhea is resolved, then continue to increase the amount of new food. This is a very common behavior, some dogs just like the taste. It can also be a sign of intestinal worms or a nutritional deficiency, so make sure Max is up to date on his deworming treatments and feed him a high quality puppy food.
