How to give FortiFlora probiotic with water if my pet won't eat it?

It's pretty odd that a cat won't eat food sprinkled with Fortiflora! In addition to probiotics, it is used as a flavor enhancer for cats with poor appetites. You may need to try a couple different foods to see what she is more interested in. Or discuss this development with your vet, as her poor appetite might not be caused by the Fortiflora and could be related to the upset stomach.

If the anti-diarrhea medication is measured with a syringe, you can give it directly into Monday's mouth - squirt it into his cheek while tilting his nose upwards (so gravity helps direct the medication into the back of his throat to be swallowed). Similarly, probiotics can be mixed in with a little water or broth, then drawn up and given orally via the syringe.

The product information doesn't have any information about using the product in the water. I would be worried the active ingredients would become inactivated in the water however. I would recommend using it on the food only. I hope this helps!

However, with more severe or persistent diarrhea, additional therapy is warranted. I recommend continuing the Fortiflora, but you should have Charlie rechecked by the vet. If the diarrhea isn't improving, depending on what was done previously, your vet may recommend additional testing (such as x-rays), and he will likely be prescribed some additional GI supportive medications to control the diarrhea. A prescription bland food may also be recommended to help firm up his stools. Hope this helps!

The other thing that I would suggest that works great is putting them in pill pockets which you can buy from your local pet store or online. They are very palatable so they tend to like them. Benefiber can be used either way in dogs. If you choose to use it dry, just make sure to mix it well in the dry food so that it coats the kibble and is not just a solid scoop that could be taken in one bite. If you choose to dissolve it, use a small amount of water, and then mix that into Tiny's food. In such small quantities I think that a blockage would be unlikely, but if you see Tiny vomiting or being extremely lethargic with a poor appetite, he should be evaluated by a vet.
